Why I started Plot Your Path Travel

For more than two decades, my identity has been rooted in education. As a professor, I’ve seen how curiosity and connection bring learning to life. But what I’ve also discovered is that the classroom—no matter how engaging—can’t hold a candle to the ultimate form of experiential learning: travel.

Travel challenges us, inspires us, and connects us. It awakens both the brain and the soul in ways nothing else can. When we share new experiences with others—whether standing before a glacier in Alaska, wandering through a bustling market, or simply sharing stories over a meal—we don’t just collect memories. We grow. We learn. We connect more deeply with the world and with each other.

That conviction is what brought me from the lecture hall to launching Plot Your Path Travel. I see travel as one of the most meaningful ways to keep our minds sharp, our hearts open, and our spirits vibrant across a lifetime. Just like teaching, it’s about guiding others toward discovery—but now the “classroom” spans the globe.

Plot Your Path Travel was born out of my belief that travel should be more than a checklist of sights. It should be an experience that restores, transforms, and reminds us of our shared humanity. I’m here to help curious travelers find those journeys, and to create communities of like-minded wanderers who learn together as they explore the world.

Welcome—I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. Let’s plot your path to a trip that changes more than your scenery.
